Enterprise Risk Management is a growing discipline with a large demand for qualified talent. At the same time, those starting out in a career in ERM often lack structured opportunities to develop their competencies in risk fundamentals. The Enterprise Risk Technician (ERT®) certification program has been designed to meet this need, providing an engaging learning environment for those seeking to gain actionable knowledge and learn from seasoned risk practitioners.
As a certified ERT®, you will have a solid foundation for your career in ERM by learning the essentials of best and emerging practices in risk management. You will also be qualified to take active responsibility in the effective implementation of ERM in your organisation.
To become fully certified, participants will have 3 years to complete all training modules. Registration for individual training modules is also available.
This program is designed to provide participants with a solid fundamental understanding of the orginis, development and current status of Risk Management practices and Risk Management standards. If you are embarking on a career in Risk Management or wish to establish a solid foundation in RIsk Management, this program will help you gain the necessary skills and knowledge.
The course offers you an overview of the various Risk Management standards including COSO ERM and ISO 31000 and covers all aspects of Risk from a definitional perspective through the benefits and disadvantages of the various models and approaches. The final part of this module involves group discussions on the applicability of the various standards and models in practical ERM implementation projects.
The design of this program provides participants with a firm grouding in the purpose and aims of fraud risk management, as well as how to go about establishing and running such a framework in your organisation. You will be schooled in effective risk management frameworks, processes, polices and procedures from an ERM perspective. This program also provides relevant guidance in establishing appropriate fraud risk management reporting and oversight and how to deal with red flags.
This module provides participants with a firm fundamental grounding in Operational Risk Management as we face the third decade of the 21st century. If you are in the Enterprise Risk Management or are involved in Operational Risk Management (ORM), this program will provide with the necessary skills and knowledge The course offers participatns practical exposure and insights and they will be exposed to both the tradional and emerging thinking about ORM. The course covers all aspects of ORM including Risk Appetites, Risk Tolerance, Reporting and ORM decision making.
Anyone involved in ERM or embarking on a career in ERM must have a sound practical grounding in the theories and practices of ERM – and its linkages to other relevant and associated disciplines and standards (eg. BCM). When implemented and utilised properly, ERM can become a driver for Commercial Sustainability as well as Organisational Agility and Resilience. This program coaches participants in how to achieve all of this. The module explains and re-emphasises the fundamentals of ERM, and shows how it can be utilised to drive strategy, performance, and the linkages to corporate governance and internal controls. Participants will also be taught how to apply strategic risk management concepts to enhance decision making processes and to add value to the business.
Only applicable to those seeking a full certification. There are no eligibility requirements for individual modules.
A degree holder (or its equivalent, and above) with at least 6 months working experience OR non-degree holder with at least 5 years working experience.
